We're Back on Hiatus
Sorry folks; Fallen Star is going back on hiatus for a bit. I’ve still got a bit of a buffer, but I’m lacking the energy to actually post the pages.
Part of it is the summer heat: I’ve gone down with heat exhaustion some three times this year already, as the UK has seen four heatwaves in one three-month stretch. While our temperatures do not reach the levels seen elsewhere, when it’s combined with high humidity and a lack of preparedness in our buildings for dealing with heat, the end result is a lot of overheating.
I’ve also been ill since summer started. I came down with a cough mid-June, and now we’re in August and it’s persisting still. It’s unpleasant – a wheezing, dry cough that becomes unbearable throughout the day – and it’s making me feel even more tired and run-down than usual. I’ve seen the doctor about it but I’m currently in a holding pattern, awaiting test results, before I can figure out next steps.
This is all unpleasant and worrying, and it’s had the added effect of providing extra stress in what is already a stressful season for me. The cough keeps me up, and the worries keep me up more, and I end up not sleeping great and waking up tired.
Hence, hiatus.
I’ll probably hold off on posting anything until mid- to late-September, when the weather cools and I’ve hopefully got answers for the cough.
So, sorry folks! But rest assured, I'm working on it (and on other projects) so there'll be plenty of stories still to come.
